Event organiser’s guide

The city is yours – let’s make it happen!

Helsinki’s birthday will be celebrated once again on 12 June. Helsinki Day has become a city-wide festival that offers lots to see and do for people of all ages.

This year, Helsinki Day is celebrated with creative acts to mark the city’s birthday. The acts are visible and audible across the city to delight the public but without gathering people together. The application process has ended, and the acts for the Helsinki Day programme were selected by public vote.

The selected acts are related to arts, nature and enlivening the urban environment, for example – what is important is that as many Helsinki residents as possible get to celebrate the occasion in their hometown.
