Event Introduction

There will be free entry between 11:00 and 17:00 to the exhibition of photographs of Helsinki from the 1950s to the 1970s, A Glimpse of Helsinki – Volker von Bonin’s photos.

12:00 Pictures from Helsinki
A lied concert by soprano Emma Hartikainen and pianist Tanja Niiranen that will consist of short, improvised songs that have Helsinki as a common denominator. The audience will get to actively participate in the creation of the concert by suggesting subject matter for the artists to improvise on.

14:00–17:00 Smile, Helsinki! – sound and dance from photography
Dancer-choreographers Tiia Hämäläinen and Jaakko Simola together with sound artist Marika Hyvärinen will create a performance that will fill the atmospheric halls of Villa Hakasalmi.
