Event Introduction
June 12, 2026, is not only Helsinki Day but also the day when the European Union’s New Pact on Migration and Asylum comes into effect. This pact weakens the rights of people coming from elsewhere and reduces their chances of finding safety in Europe in many ways. Reza Adibi and Satu Söderholm’s exhibition addresses borders and displacement, reminding us that, in the end, it is purely a matter of chance which side of the border fence each of us is born on.
