Open day at the Karstulantie civil defence shelter

Event Introduction

The City of Helsinki is hosting an open day at the recently renovated civil defence shelter on Karstulantie between 10.00 am and 2.30 pm on 12 June.

Visitors will learn about civil defence equipment and procedures as well as the technical use of the shelter. Matti Waitinen, author of children’s fire safety books, will read extracts from his latest book ‘Palovaari ja sinisen kolmion arvoitus’ (‘Grampa Fire and the Mystery of the Blue Triangle’), and there will be representatives of the National Defence Training Association of Finland and Helsinki Rescue Association at the event.
