History and present day of civil defence in Helsinki

Event Introduction

In addition to the permanent exhibition of the Museum of Civil Defence, visitors will be introduced to the history of the mass bombings of February 1944. The museum will be showing a documentary called Air Defence Victory of Helsinki, which tells the story of the city’s survival from the air raids.

    There is a low threshold at the front door and gently sloping ramps at the civil defence doors through which the museum is entered. There are no obstructions inside the museum itself. There is a buzzer at the front door for calling for assistance.
