UMO Helsinki Jazz Orchestra jam session on Helsinki Day
Event Introduction
A jazz jam session is a musical think tank through which artists build something new on foundations of the past. The house band will start at 18:30, after which professional musicians and amateurs will take to the stage. The house band will be led by UMO’s trombonist Kasperi Sarikoski, with a setlist centred around the distinctive compositions of J.J. Johnson. In addition to professional jazz musicians, the house band consists of jazz music students from the Metropolia and Sibelius Academy.
