Stadi Meets Karelia – a singalong event

Event Introduction

The first Stadin karjalainen, a Karelian person living in Helsinki, in the history of the world will be named and given a floral tribute at the event, which will also feature the traditional attires of Stadis man, the Helsinki parish woman and the Kaukola woman and man. There will also be a singalong of songs from Helsinki and Karelia, sang in Helsinki slang and Karelian dialect. Accordionist Arttu Kunnasto will be in charge of the music. Karelian pies and other treats will be served at the café. The terrace offers the most beautiful sea view in the city.

    The plot is rocky and uneven in places but can be navigated with a walking frame or wheelchair with an assistant. The event is planned to be held outdoors but will be moved inside in the case of rain. It is difficult to access the villa with a wheelchair due to the steps at the entrance.
