Seitsemän Pomeranssipuuta exhibition

Event Introduction

The exhibition Seitsemän Pomeranssipuuta (‘Seven Seville orange trees’) showcases the plants at Villa Annala (or Villa Anneberg), located in the neighbourhood where Helsinki was originally founded. Illustrator Leena Airikkala selected the themes for her watercolours from plant catalogues, and Anu Ranta’s texts describe the history and use of plants together with photos and stories about the history of the villa. The exhibition offers a glimpse into the Wasenius family’s 100-year-long farming history as well as the history of Helsinki and horticulture.
