Event Introduction
The concert includes Robert Schumann’s best-known song cycle Dichterliebe as well as North Ostrobothnian folk songs arranged by Leevi Madetoja.
The programme sounds incredibly traditional, but it is realised in an unprecedented way: the songs combine traditional art song with improvisation, and the audience gets to participate in the realisation of the improvised parts. Schumann’s song cycle is usually not accompanied by an accordion, either.
