Helsinki Day at the Museum Flame Observatory

Event Introduction

Take a peek at the Observatory Garden! There will be walking tours focusing on the buildings architecture and history. Tours will be held in Finnish at 14:00, 15:00, 17:00 and 18:00 and in English at 13:00 and 16:00; duration approx. 30 minutes. Departure from the courtyard, through the main gate. The garden is accessed via steps. In the event of rain, the lectures will be given in the lecture hall.

Short lectures on the scientific significance of the Observatory will be given in the old observation room from 13:00 to 19:00. What kind of phenomena were observed under the Helsinki sky and how did the building’s design support them?

There is an accessible entrance via the red garden gate on the west side of the Observatory building. If the gate is closed, please call 050 318 57 64. More information on accessibility can be found here.
