A nature and art event for the whole family on the island of Harakka

Event Introduction

The nature and art event will offer activities for the whole family in the embrace of island nature. The non-stop boat service from Ullanlinnanlaituri to Harakka will be free of charge throughout the event and starts at 13:30. Visitors are not permitted to travel to the island using their own boat, and dogs must be left at home. A pop-up café will serve visitors. No booking required.

Programme:

  • Guided baby bird tours, departure from the front of the Nature House at 15:00 and 16:30.
  • Guided plant tours, departure from the front of the Nature House at 15:30 and 17:30.
  • Explore the underwater world of the Baltic Sea in the Aquarium House and the Nature House’s renewed archipelago exhibition. 
  • Salt rainbow workshop at the Nature House, 14:00–15:30 and 16:00–17:30.
  • Art workshop: Take a peek into an artist’s studio and draw a live nude model with the sculptor Aleksi Remsu. Departure from the main entrance of the Artists’ House at 14:15 and 16:15.
  • Art workshop: Drawing birds on the bird and landscape platform at 14:30 and 16:00. Departure from the front of the Nature House. 
  • A self-guided art tour of works by Annette Arlander.

More information about accessibility:

The ferry is not accessible. The island features varied terrain and obstacles. The Aquarium House can be accessed via a ramp, and there are a few steps to the Nature House. The Artists’ House is on a hill.
