A brief history of Mustasaari

Event Introduction

Guided tours will be held in Mustasaari on Helsinki Day, providing a brief history of the island and its buildings. Did you know that volleyball arrived in Finland via Mustasaari? Or, do you know what Mustasaari had to do with the Olympic Games that were supposed to have been held in Helsinki in 1940?

Tours are scheduled at 16:30 and 18:30; duration approx. 45 minutes. Please note: Mustasaari can only be accessed by ferry from the Taivallahti pier (Hiekkarannantie 3). Timetables and fees are available on the website.
