Come up with an act and get involved!

This year we will be celebrating Helsinki’s birthday with COVID-safe Helsinki Day acts.

We are looking for acts that are impressive and attractive to wide audiences – acts that can enliven or embellish the city, for example. Their theme can be based on a variety of things: arts, nature and the environment – your creativity is the only limit! The acts must be safe, accessible, responsible and free for the audience.  There is a precondition for the Helsinki Day acts: people need to be able to see, hear or experience them in our city but without them being public events or requiring people to gather together in the same place at the same time.

The acts pre-selected by the Helsinki Events Foundation panel will be published in April on the Helsinki Day website, after which audience votes will decide which acts are produced. The pre-selection process emphasises features such as the diversity of the audience, the accessibility of the acts and their locations in different parts of Helsinki. The applicants whose acts receive the most votes will get to produce their acts to celebrate the city’s birthday on 12 June.

A total of EUR 100,000 for a maximum of 10 proposals will be invested in the production of the Helsinki Day acts. Contracts will be drawn up for the selected acts, and the producers of the acts will invoice the Helsinki Events Foundation accordingly.
